Surfing on Dany Island
Vanuatu’s Hidden Right-Hand Gem
Tucked away on the northern tip of Dany Island lies one of Espiritu Santo’s best-kept secrets – a clean, consistent right-hand surf break known among locals as the top surfing spot in the region.

The Break
This reef break, named Dany Island – Stormbreak delivers average 4-foot waves, with clean faces and excellent shape. It thrives on a northerly swell, and though conditions vary day to day, the spot is known for its rideable consistency and playful energy.
Best Time to Surf
Dany Island’s break is surfable year-round, but it shines during Vanuatu’s summer months (typically October to March) when swell and weather align beautifully. Early mornings are ideal for glassy conditions and uncrowded rides.
